    ENSENADA, Baja California, Mexico—Earning a triple in any sport is tough, but scoring a grand slam is much, much tougher. Adding yet another sparkling jewel to the stunning three-generation McMillin Family Racing crown, Luke ‘The Luke’ McMillin has joined Bryce Menzies and Alan Ampudia as the only three racers who have earned SCORE Baja Grand Slam Awards in the glorious 53-year history of SCORE International, the World’s Foremost Desert Racing Organization.

     ‘The Luke’, youngest of the current generation of McMillin family racers at 33, who lives in San Diego like all of the illustrious McMillin clan, earned his superlative place in SCORE history by winning the overall at the recent 7th SCORE Baja 400 in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.

‘THE LUKE’

     Following his three-for-three 2026 SCORE Trophy Truck victories this season ‘The Luke’ now has earned nine career SCORE Trophy Truck race victories.

     With his first overall in the seven-year-old SCORE Baja 400, he joins Las Vegas’ Bryce Menzies and Mexico’s Alan Ampudia (Ensenada) as the only three racers who have won the overalls in the three traditional SCORE Baja races and the newest SCORE Baja race. He also picked up a US$10,000 contingency bonus check from BFGoodrich Tires for his most recent overall SCORE race victory.

     With his first two SCORE overalls this season, ‘The Luke’ has earned eight 4-wheel overalls total in the three traditional SCORE Baja races: the SCORE San Felipe 250, the SCORE Baja 500, and the SCORE Baja 1000 as he became just the 12th ‘Dusty Dozen’ racer in SCORE history to earn a SCORE Baja Triple Crown Award with his win this year in June’s SCORE Baja 500.

     ‘The Luke’ is also the only racer in SCORE ‘Dusty Dozen’ history to win the overall in all three SCORE traditional Baja races in the same year.

     ‘The Luke’ joined two family members on the elite list of just a ‘Dusty Dozen’ racers who have earned the SCORE Baja Triple Crown Awards with this year’s SCORE Baja 500 triumph.

    His uncle Scott McMillin and his cousin Andy McMillin are also SCORE Baja Triple Crown Award winners with eight total overalls as well as ‘The Luke’.

     For ‘The Luke’, he now has four overalls in the iconic SCORE Baja 1000 and three in the SCORE San Felipe 250, the youngest of the three SCORE Baja Triple Crown races at 39 years old, and his first in this year’s SCORE Baja 500.

‘THE LUKE’ COMMENTS

     At the finish line of the SCORE Baja 400, following intensely close battles with both Menzies and Ampudia, the very grateful Luke McMillin said, " Man, it was a really fast-paced SCORE Baja 400. All these SCORE Trophy Truck races are getting so close, within seconds. Alan (Ampudia) was out front. I'm sure he was trying to be smart. And then I felt really good with the pace. I felt like we were hanging in there and being comfortable. Bryce (Menzies) was a little bit quicker than us. He was on us. And then finally, Alan got a flat. We got around him. And then not even 10 miles later, we got a flat. Bryce gets around us. And he walked away a little bit, got about a minute and a half on us.”

     “But then once we got up the coast, I think he was battling some vibration. We were able to close the gap and he got a flat. So, it was a cat and mouse game with just flat tires. And there wasn't many of them. It was pretty impressive by BF Goodrich Tires. I mean, honestly, we were pushing pretty hard and they're taking it. These SCORE Trophy Trucks are getting amazing. I mean, we're just wide open all day. Baja racing used to be just about survival. And of course, it still is. But everyone's able to do it at a very fast pace now and I feel I'm very excited we're three for three this season. And I have now joined Bryce and Alan as SCORE Baja Grand Slam winners.”

     “It was an up and up and down emotional day because I thought Bryce was gonna get away from us for a minute and then we caught up to him and then we're first on the road. And our brakes were going to the floor and I was just like man what are we gonna do, just keep making dust. Then the last 30 miles we said it's time to go and we put 40 seconds on him. With the dust and the sun and whatnot, we were able to pull off the win. So I'm very very happy and proud of the team.”

Luke McMillin hace historia al unirse al exclusivo club de ganadores de la hazaña de Off-Road, y se convierte en apenas el tercer piloto en conquistar la victoria overall de carros en las cuatro carreras del Campeonato Mundial del Desierto de SCORE International

 

     ENSENADA, Baja California, México–Conseguir una triple corona en cualquier deporte es difícil, pero alcanzar un Grand Slam es mucho, mucho más complicado. Sumando otra brillante joya a la impresionante corona de tres generaciones de la familia McMillin, Luke “El Luke” McMillin se unió a Bryce Menzies y Alan Ampudia como los únicos tres pilotos que han conquistado el Grand Slam de Baja en SCORE en los gloriosos 53 años de historia de SCORE International, la Organización Mundial Líder en Carreras Fuera de Camino.

     “El Luke”, el más joven de la actual generación de pilotos de la familia McMillin, con 33 años y residente de San Diego, California, al igual que el resto del ilustre clan McMillin, se ganó un lugar privilegiado en la historia de SCORE al conquistar la victoria overall en la reciente edición 7 de la SCORE Baja 400, celebrada en Ensenada, Baja California, México.

“EL LUKE”

       Tras conseguir tres victorias en tres carreras disputadas en la temporada 2026 dentro de los SCORE Trophy Trucks, “El Luke” suma ahora nueve triunfos en su carrera dentro de la categoría estelar de SCORE International.

         Con su primera victoria overall en los siete años de historia de la SCORE Baja 400, McMillin se unió a Bryce Menzies, de Las Vegas, Nevada, y al ensenadense Alan Ampudia como los únicos tres corredores que han conquistado la victoria overall en las tres tradicionales carreras de SCORE que se realizan en la península de Baja California, así como en la más joven de las competencias SCORE en suelo mexicano. Además, recibió un bono de contingencia de 10 mil dólares por parte de BFGoodrich Tires gracias a su más reciente victoria overall en SCORE.

       Con sus primeras dos victorias overall de esta temporada, “El Luke” llegó a ocho triunfos overall de carros en las tres tradicionales carreras de SCORE en México: la SCORE San Felipe 250, SCORE Baja 500 y SCORE Baja 1000. Además, se convirtió en apenas el piloto número 12 del exclusivo grupo conocido como la “Docena del Desierto” en la historia de SCORE en obtener la Triple Corona de Baja, tras su victoria en la SCORE Baja 500 celebrada en Junio de este año.

        “El Luke” también es el único piloto en la historia de la “Docena del Desierto” de SCORE que ha conquistado la victoria overall en las tres tradicionales carreras de SCORE en Baja California durante un mismo año.

PREMIO TRIPLE CORONA DE BAJA

         “El Luke” se unió a dos integrantes de su familia dentro de la exclusiva lista de apenas una “Docena del Desierto” de pilotos que han conquistado la Triple Corona de Baja en SCORE, gracias a su triunfo en la SCORE Baja 500 de este año.

       Su tío Scott McMillin y su primo Andy McMillin también son ganadores del mismo galardón en SCORE, y al igual que “El Luke”, cuentan con ocho victorias overall cada uno.

        En el caso de “El Luke”, sus ocho triunfos overall se reparten con cuatro en la legendaria SCORE Baja 1000, tres en la SCORE San Felipe 250 —la más joven de las tres carreras que integran la Triple Corona de Baja en SCORE, con 39 años de historia— y su primera victoria en la SCORE Baja 500, conseguida este año.

DECLARACIONES DE “EL LUKE”

         En la línea de meta de la SCORE Baja 400, después de sostener intensas y cerradas batallas con Menzies y Ampudia, un muy agradecido Luke McMillin señaló: “Vaya, fue una SCORE Baja 400 realmente rápida. Todas estas carreras de los SCORE Trophy Trucks están siendo cada vez más cerradas, con diferencias de apenas segundos. Alan (Ampudia) iba al frente y estoy seguro de que estaba tratando de correr de manera inteligente. Yo me sentía muy bien con nuestro ritmo; sentía que estábamos ahí, manteniéndonos cómodos. Bryce (Menzies) era un poco más rápido que nosotros y venía muy cerca. Finalmente, Alan sufrió una ponchada, logramos superarlo y, menos de 10 millas después, nosotros también tuvimos una llanta ponchada. Bryce nos pasó y se alejó un poco, sacándonos alrededor de un minuto y medio”.

        “Pero una vez que llegamos a la zona de la costa, creo que él estaba batallando con alguna vibración. Pudimos recortar la diferencia y después sufrió una ponchada. Así que fue como un juego del gato y el ratón, definido por las llantas ponchadas, aunque realmente no fueron muchas. Fue impresionante el desempeño de BFGoodrich Tires. Sinceramente, estábamos empujando muy fuerte y las llantas aguantaron. Estos SCORE Trophy Trucks son cada vez más impresionantes; prácticamente vamos a fondo durante todo el día. Antes, correr en Baja se trataba simplemente de sobrevivir y, por supuesto, todavía lo es, pero ahora todos pueden hacerlo a un ritmo muy rápido. Estoy muy emocionado de llevar tres victorias en tres carreras esta temporada y ahora me he unido a Bryce y Alan como ganador del Grand Slam de Baja en SCORE”.

        “Fue un día de muchas emociones y altibajos, porque por un momento pensé que Bryce se nos iba a escapar, pero después logramos alcanzarlo y nos colocamos primeros físicamente en la ruta. Nuestros frenos se iban hasta el fondo y yo pensaba: ‘Hombre, ¿qué vamos a hacer?’. Solo nos quedaba seguir levantando polvo. Entonces, en las últimas 30 millas dijimos: ‘Es momento de atacar’, y logramos sacarle 40 segundos. Entre el polvo, el sol y todas esas condiciones, pudimos conseguir la victoria. Así que estoy muy, muy feliz y orgulloso de todo el equipo”.
