His crowning achievement came in 2017 when he captured the SCORE Baja 500 class championship in the Baja Challenge division, conquering the grueling Ensenada desert race that tests both driver skill and mechanical preparation.

Gonzales has proven his adaptability by successfully competing in various categories throughout his career, including the Pro UTV Normally Aspirated class where he teamed with Steve Nottoli, Mike Shatynski, Erik Ridens, and Marc Behnke aboard a Polaris RZR 1000.
