VANCOUVER, WA - #BC2
Achieving a podium finish at the legendary SCORE Baja 1000 in 2021, Jesse Nemec showcased his elite-level competitiveness on desert racing's most demanding stage. As part of the BC2 team in the Baja Challenge class, Nemec and his co-drivers Jeff Smith, Nathan Smith, Chris Evans, Darryl Becker, and Don Kennedy secured second place in their Subaru-powered Baja Touring Car, crossing the finish line after an grueling 36 hours and 45 minutes of racing across Baja California's punishing terrain.
The 2021 Baja 1000 marked the 50th anniversary of the iconic race, attracting one of the largest Baja Challenge fields in recent history with 12 teams and nearly 80 participants from around the world. Nemec's achievement was particularly notable as the Baja Challenge class maintained its remarkable streak of 100-percent finishing rate, with all vehicles completing the race safely despite the notorious difficulty of the 1,000-mile course.
Based in Vancouver, Washington, Nemec represents the Pacific Northwest's growing presence in SCORE International desert racing, demonstrating the skill and endurance required to compete at the highest levels of off-road motorsports in North America's premier desert racing series.
The SCORE Baja Challenge Class once again had all of the class starters finish the course. On top were the BC1 car with John Williams, Brian Finch, Kyle Tucker, Lance Clifford, and Brad Lovell as co-drivers. “It was a super tough race at 1,227 miles,” said Clifford at the finish line. Read More
